Leon Pryce, Brian Noble and Keith Mumby are all examples of players who have given great service for the club who are from Bradford and BullBuilder can report that Bulls Head of Youth Development John Bastian is hoping to find many more young Bradfordians who will do the same in the future.
John Bastian said “I think over the years the club hasn’t built strong enough links with local amateur clubs and has ended up looking for players outside the Bradford area. Recently there have obviously been a lot of off field distractions but now we have stability I’m really keen to build good relationships with all amateur clubs in the city.”
“Myself, and all the other members of the coaching and scouting team have been to many clubs to watch young players. We look at players as young as U14 levels to identify potential future talent. The more you show your face at clubs the more you can build bridges and find opportunities where we as clubs can help each other.”
Odsal recently saw Amateur Finals Day return with Queensbury, Queensbury A, West Bowling and Victoria Rangers A fighting it out on 25 April. The day was a big success and John Bastian hopes to build on it.
“We have 5 U16s that are Bradford lads and I hope that’s just the beginning. With BullBuilder helping us provide the right environment for these players we can look forward to attracting more talent from clubs in the city.”
